Well the dawgs have some work to do this week before we face Mizzou. I went to the game with some friends and left before the half because it was so hot. Our next home game is in October against Tennessee. I hope it’s cooler by then. I bought a student ticket package just to see us beat Tennessee at home, so we better have our act together by then! Haha
Justice Clarence Thomas was at the law school this week teaching a class. I didn’t get to meet him, but I did get to see him in passing. I would have loved to shake his hand and tell him that I’m trans. It probably wouldn’t have mattered, but who knows. A secret service member did tell me “hey man” as I passed him in the stairwell. I guess I’ll consider that a win.
A friend of mine works for a Methodist church and reached out to me this past week because they potentially had a genderqueer person attend a service. The church staff wanted some guidance on being more LGBTQ, particularly T and Q, inclusive. I think that’s pretty cool. I wish more churches would do that. I grew up in a Methodist church but haven’t been to one in close to two years now. I don’t know that I’ll ever go back. I don’t want to spend time in a place that doesn’t affirm who I am. I do miss the hymns from time to time.
All the best,
